@GPhilip52086 @WeirdMedieval Exactly right about process! The Bible does not say. Thus, the Bible is ok with evolution. And science can't test a Creator. Thus, Evolution is ok with God. Psalm 19 "The heavens declare His handiwork..."

While true I really don't think they have any idea how to really build soil. Our farm has transformed our soil from producing 1500 lbs per acre to 10,000 lbs of forage per acre in under 5 years without planting a seed, spraying a chemical or using inorganic fertilizer. But to do that it has been very difficult to do within the regulations in Canada. Integrating animals back onto the land in controlled intensive ways is the best way to do that.

Ottawa announced today that Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is working on a national soil health strategy. Good. Healthy soil plays a key role in crop yields, farm resilience, and long-term food system stability—making this an important foundational initiative.

Dodgers players had two gifts waiting for them at their lockers when they arrived at the ballpark today: * a bottle of Traveller whiskey from Dave Roberts * a $4,000 Seiko watch from Shohei Ohtani, complete with a note: “Let’s three-peat.”

@pancakeeater45 @Dlion_Dwolf @kaizen000000000 actually all uber-ancient peoples had animism. it is the baseline, as far as we know we're talking 10kya and older, although there are many examples living today what the beliefs were 2-3m years ago... harder to discern

@Dlion_Dwolf @kaizen000000000 Atheists never rebelled. Not believing in a god or religion is the default state of human beings. And even if we did, rebellion isn’t automatically a bad thing. And it’s not “ignorance” that leads to people criticizing religion/scripture, it’s critical thinking.

Atheists don’t hate God. Most of us simply aren’t convinced He exists. A perfect being shouldn’t create an imperfect world full of pain.

This Lone Ranger Atomic Bomb ring was distributed by Kix cereal in the late 40's, for 15 cents and a mail-in box top. It was actually a spinthariscope containing radioactive Polonium-210 (one of the most toxic substances out there). A child would take the toy into a pitch-black room, remove the tail cap from the 'bomb', and look through a tiny lens to see flashes of light from the Polonium-210 atoms decaying into Lead-206.

READING the Bible has not made anyone a saint. In fact, I know of several illiterate saints and corrupt scholars. It is written: since scripture says, 'Be holy, for I am holy.' (1 Peter 1:16) (Leviticus 11:44) What makes one holy is the encounter with Jesus Christ, which is most fully realized in the Eucharist he instituted. Without the Eucharist there is no salvation. Without the (Roman Catholic) Church there is no salvation. "Sola Scriptura" is a heresy, which is the egocentric, selfish, individualistic way of Satan. It says with the principle of "Sola Scriptura": you can be saved alone. No, you cannot get to heaven alone, you cannot meet Jesus. This is a false direction, a wrong path, it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

The Bible is the one book every person should read before they die. Despite being a believer, this is the first year that I've read the Bible completely. But, reading it with a guide has brought the text to life, providing valuable context & aiding learning, Read more below.

The Dark Ages weren't dark, they were a 500 year rescue operation run by the Church When Rome fell in 476 AD, monks walked into the ruins and pulled out the manuscripts Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Virgil were copied by hand for 500 years in cold rooms for no audience The Renaissance didn't rediscover antiquity, it unwrapped what monks had kept

This is a genuinely interesting story. Huge amount of automated work, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of human hours. BUT: with an error rate of 10%, and with the precise reading of *every* word mattering in such an exercise, it is meaningless, and for manuscripts of authority worse than useless, without a human checking every single word. BUT: there simply aren't people, in 2026, with the expertise, the time, and the funding to check these 32,000 manuscripts at this level. Welcome to Digital Humanities Slop.
