To build a sustained human presence on the Moon, we are building @NASAMoonBase, prioritizing surface operations and scalable infrastructure.  - Frequent robotic landings and mobility testing including MoonFall drones  - Starting in 2027 nearly monthly cadence of equipment and rovers with scientific payloads landing on the Moon.  - Investments in power, communications, and surface mobility  - Scalable infrastructure to support long-term human presence The objective is clear: build the foundation for an enduring lunar base and take the next step toward Mars.

NASA’s Lori Glaze said, beginning with Artemis VI, the agency will transition from government driven missions to commercial launches (ie Starship or New Glenn or others). Agency wants to launch humans to the Moon at least every six months.

Below is a note I shared with the NASA workforce outlining today’s Ignition event and how America will deliver the golden age of space exploration. 🧵

Today at Ignition, we’re aligning the NASA workforce, industry, our international and commercial partners, and the broader space-loving community on how we will execute @POTUS’ national space policy ✅ Return to the Moon ✅ Build a Moon base ✅ Unleash the golden age of space exploration. ✅ First interplanetary nuclear powered spacecraft We will win the second space race.

To return Americans to the Moon, NASA is shifting to an iterative, execution-focused approach – just as we did during Apollo.  We are standardizing rocket architecture, embedding NASA expertise across industry, and increasing launch cadence to support sustained lunar operations.   We are sending a demand signal for crewed missions beyond Artemis V, with at least two providers capable of bringing astronauts to the surface every 6 months.  The goal is not just to reach the Moon, but to stay.  America will never give up the Moon again.
