1st game of the season Away vs @Humberbeat NWA 258/6 with Home team 244/5. Great first win on the road in a tough well fought game between the sides in great spirits @NickBarker1984 98* with the bat.

@NWPCA2 @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 I'm not arguing at all, I wished both teams well and explained what the alliance was ?? Then the #salty tag was formed..... Winning isn't important to us.... Giving the opportunity to represent the force in sport they enjoy is. No such alliances are formed in Police football ?

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Committee putting us all together so that the cricketer s in our region could play in the comp for wellbeing, competition, and ultimately be successful as driven individuals - we are also looking forward to another war of the roses match next year in the groups !

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Always states it’s due to having 4 forces but the fact is we have very talented cricketers and great lads and not alot else which is just very lucky and fortunate we are quite happy with how successful we’ve been and it’s down to hard work commitment and all started with BP

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Football is a popular sport with police officers however in the north west we struggle to find officers willing to use annual leave to rep the forces which the current 17/18 players we have do it’s a credit to them we’ve been very successful with the players we have but everyone

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Isn’t the place for such arguments this should be to the committee with any concerns you have over who you play and how at the end of the day well-being is paramount but then there are also other factors involved that need to be seen to move forward not backwards to the dark ages

@NWPCA2 @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Same teams twice in a season? Rather visit variety of forces surely? Why is single force representation unsustainable? As for BP selection that must come after health and well being for all staff playing and a bigger pool of players to choose from if every force were represented

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Unsustainable as work comes first so time off for players causes problems and lack of players esp in times when sports leave isn’t given I believe this is the first time in a long time you’ve had a team and probably due to the problems that have been touched upon but Twitter 1/2

@WYP_Cricket @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 It wouldn’t reduce fixtures as with more alliances and less teams the fixtures can be both home and away there are plenty of ways around any issues such as having single forces as representative is an unsustainable format it also increases the quality of the comp for BP selection

@NWPCA2 @britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Would that not reduce the amount of games even further by making more alliances ? Advertising and getting the news out to all staff that they have a cricket team is the way forward....I'm sure every force has 11 cricketers who play club cricket who would represent their force?

@britishpolicecc @BenDowling2223 Good for Leicestershire but maybe if the other 3 can’t survive without assistance we should regionalise certain alliances to strengthen the competition further and again increase wellbeing through sport

@BenDowling2223 2023 will see Leics returning as a single Force so this could spell the end of Notts / Derbys & Northants

Dumbria beat PSNI yesterday meaning in our first full season in the PSUK competition we finished a respectable Second in the group behind a team made up of 4 forces. A brilliant first season from all involved with limited numbers getting players released to play @ThePNLD
