it'll work, but it won't be great. it'd already a gain hungry mic so if your interface already has the gain CRANKED, you're gonna have to crank it more or boost it digitally. i know you audio talk so i won't bore you with details 🤣 and then you'll run into the second issue which will happen with any mic you choose. The further away the mic is from the sound source, the closer you're speaking voice is to the level of your background noise which makes it harder to noise gate and noise suppress. Doing so well no doubt create additional work for you. As others have stated, shotgun Mike would work well here but it's going to take more work to get it sounding good because of the distance. And if you don't have a well sound treated room it'll be even more difficult

Those of you that use a SM7B mic, how close does it have to be to work effectively? I dont like mics right in my face, and was thinking I could put it here aimed at me, would that work?

@thebadbadrobot @sysadafterdark oh snap! good to know. i'm torn between which I'm gonna stay with. I really like Claude work. But it still struggles with some simple things sometimes

@Naaackers @sysadafterdark I have to say, ever since I switched to the $100 plan, I haven’t even come close to hitting a limit with Claude. In the long run, I end up doing far less troubleshooting when I let Claude handle something compared to ChatGPT.

I just canceled my ChatGPT subscription and switched over to Claude. At least for IT work, Claude has given me much more accurate responses.

@TheQuest818 @sysadafterdark no no, just the $20 plan. And that was 100% just using chatbot. No co work, no claude code. hahah. It was a heavy day of n8n json troubleshooting but i've had probably 10+ days of all day chatting with Chatgpt doing the same thing and never once hit a token limit.

Analyze what the audience reacts to and what they don't, and lean into what does. But you hit the nail on the head. It's a nothing burger post, but it's relatable. And relateability is everything.

I find both chatgpt and claude to fall a little short with troubleshooting as it seems they don't funny understand the framework or flow of how things are build. Lots of ping ponging back and fourth. @Naaackers I certainly would be curious about what value you see as a creator and as a "techie". I cannot imagine myself letting an agent like that run and make changes of any kind without babysitting it, thus defeating part of the purpose.
