@alieneliane because its a power play if the person hiring knows you dont have anything else going on you’re more likely to say yes to whatever they offer, therefore they can offer you lower salary
if they think you have better options you’re more likely to get a fitting offer🤷🏻♀️

I don't know who started treating unemployed people like they have some sort of contagious disease, but I really hope we can stop that nonsense
for years I've heard things like "never turn on open to work on linkedIn if you want to land a role" or "don't tell anyone you're unemployed because you'll seem desperate," and we've somehow internalized that being unemployed means we've lost our value as human beings
I get it, having a scarcity mindset and job hunting while you're still employed puts you in a position of power and gives you more room to negotiate
that's true, but that doesn't mean unemployed people will just accept whatever deal you throw at them
I'm tired of having to pretend that's acceptable

they just want to say they got an “ecosystem” meanwhile no one employed there actually seems to be in tune with what’s happening with their users
also just from a business perspective none of what they’re doing makes sense (I’ve been studying international business for 7years) it’s literally a recipe for disaster
