dreamed about going to mania since i was a kid, and the fact i made this happen for myself from 50+ hour weeks in work for the past near year and a lot of stress but i did it!! heart is so full so proud of my little self 🫀

@mytnatalie i appreciate buying expensive tickets is difficult especially in the current economic climate but my point was a lot of people who purchase seats in the country i live in do so because accessibility is poor and they can’t stand and therefore standing is blocking their view

2026 is the first year i’ve seen people complain about people standing at “seated” shows…like yeah technically you are paying for a seat but since when is it not normal to stand for concerts???

@Shannon_Breezy1 yeah it’s not like this in the UK… those prices would never be a thing! and you’re not allowed to stand on the upper tiers of certain arenas/venues for safety reasons

@NatalieAL @276_eli I try to be a reasonably respectful of those around me. But with the bigger shows where the pit tickets are $300-$400 each but I can get a seat in the upper bowl for $80-$150, I’m not doing pit.

@matchastarcandy i work in education so it probably figures staff shouldn’t be using chat gpt for that, however, people are very overworked and underpaid so i can see where they’re trying to make short cuts even though it’s a terrible idea. hate how AI is eroding so many creative industries too!

no bc my job is forcing us to include AI/chatgpt somehow as one of our individual annual goals to work towards, which reflects in our employee performance review and I straight up told my manager I will not be doing that idc 🧍‍♀️ if I don't get a bonus next year or rated low, idc !

@276_eli oh yeah it would be impossible and no one is saying don’t have fun but i think it’s also about having consideration for those around you and their circumstances/enjoyment too

@NatalieAL that is really unfortunate but i still think that it’s generally odd to stop people from standing/dancing/having fun at seated shows, and it truly would be impossible to stop people from doing so unless the venue itself makes it a rule 🤷‍♀️

@276_eli also anyone could just ask the people around them if they mind if anyone stands, see what the vibes are like etc. rather than just wonder why people are complaining about people standing in seated sections because it could be for a really valid reason.

@276_eli well in the uk ada sections are extremely limited so a lot of people who want an accessible space/ticket can’t do so and end up purchasing a standard seated ticket and if they struggle to stand you’re then blocking them for the whole night by standing
