Cinematographer Grieg Fraser is known for using a process called "film out" in which he scans his footage captured on digital cameras onto 35 or 70mm film prints, & then scanned back in order to achieve a more organic look which adds the more grainy, warmer shadows, and chemical based colors of film. And it allows the flexibility & convenience of shooting with digital cameras on enormous sets, & for a skilled DP like Fraser, completely gets rid of the flat look of digital often seen in blockbusters. He's done it with both Dune films, The Batman, and now Project Hail Mary. My favorite DP in Hollywood, maestro.

NEW: 67-year-old Karen Cooke Lewis arrested for scratching a Tesla Cybertruck with nails on a board in Collettsville, North Carolina. The owner of the Cybertruck says he had no clue who Karen was. "We had all the craziness with Teslas when Elon was part of Doge and all that stuff, but I thought we had kind of gotten past that and I'd kind of made it through unscathed," the owner said. Karen was arrested and charged with injury to personal property. When will they realize that Teslas have cameras that are recording them?

@jaysonrothwell The narrow media landscape of the past created a scarcity, scarcity drives people to engage, watch, go to the theatre. The anticipation of a film a year out, 9 months, and how you knew it was coming was effective and targeted. Today it’s an effort to know a release schedule.

@NealEdelstein The production values this year were piss poor. The presenter sections were constant misses, apart from imho Rachel McAdams. Awful camerawork. Too much self-importance, not enough irreverence. Audience taking too much protein powder, not enough marching powder.

Ignoring legends like Alain Delon and Bridgette Bardot beacuse you don’t like their politics. Setting quotas for films to be considered for awards when all the legendary films of the past that won and inspired people did not meet any quotas. The Academy is done, and they know it.
