On June 30, 2007, while picking up his family from Glasgow Airport, Police Constable Stephen Clarkson found himself in the middle of a terror attack. A burning jeep had crashed into the terminal, and a man engulfed in flames was attempting to reach a car full of petrol bombs. Without hesitation, Stephen rushed towards the chaos, confronting the attacker who had been fighting off police officers. Despite the intense danger, Stephen’s instincts kicked in. Fueled by anger and a desire to protect innocent lives, he took the terrorist down with a decisive move, helping to prevent a catastrophic disaster. Stephen’s courage, alongside the quick actions of others like taxi driver Alex McIlveen and baggage handler John Smeaton, played a pivotal role in stopping the attack. Afterward, Stephen downplayed his actions, saying it was simply what any decent person would have done. 55th Wing Birthday Ball!

Last night some of our CAT Deputies met up with some young car enthusiasts to distribute a few of the I-29 Speedway and Dragway gift cards. We want to engage with these individuals and provide them a safe and legal alternative to street racing before these meetups turn into street takeovers, racing, and other dangerous activity. Thank you to I-29 Speedway and Dragway for donating the gift cards and partnering with us in this effort. We know number of people have reached out to the office to get gift cards as well. If you contact the office, please leave your name and contact information and we will let you know how you can pick them up from Deputies.

Please keep the 2 Deputies shot in Carroll County (VA) last night in your thoughts and prayers. Both were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition. We average one police officer shot every 24 hours in America. Let’s not forget that is someone’s Father/Son, Mother/Daughter lives forever impacted by the historic violence we have seen against law enforcement over the last several years. It despicable…

It was a busy Sunday night for the Community Action Team. CAT deputies partnered with overnight patrol and conducted selective speed enforcement in the area of 30th & Tucker Street. Numerous citations were issued near Crayon Castle daycare, which fell victim to a speeding/reckless driver on December 20th. CAT deputies then located a large group of reckless drivers in the area of 35th & L Street. The group was tracked to the area of 72nd & Reynolds Street. Antonio GRIMALDO-COLLINS, in his "SLO RT", learned the hard way that driving recklessly and tearing up parking lots will land you in jail. Additional charges for other members of this group are being investigated. We hear it every day- the Omaha community is sick and tired of these groups. The Community Action Team will soon increase its staffing and more of these drivers will be held accountable. We ask that the public keeps sending their street racing tips to dcsocat@douglascounty-ne.gov.

The Nebraska State Patrol has just issued information about the funeral procession for Trooper McAcy, leading up to his service at 11 a.m. on Thursday. NSP will also stream the service live. That information and a map of the procession route is available below.
