What do you topdress your wheat with? 3 hole, 7 hole, Chafer bars, dry fertilizer Chafer bars are 3.5x the cost of 3 streams, are they worth it?

@Garretgraham007 @NeedhamAgTech Why not use a 3 hole in the study? Or was it and the data not published? Because on the theory of leaf burn 7 is more than 4 but 4 is more than 3. Coming from the seed side, people don’t publish the plots they lose. Do you have independent 3rd party studies?

@Garretgraham007 The average CV was 3.30 bu./ac. and the average LSD (p=0.05) was 4.13 bu./ac.

@NeedhamAgTech What is the LSD? Is that a statistical difference between 7 stream and chaffer?

Big differences this year between phos banded with the wheat seed, compared to the same products (and rates) surface broadcast. In this replicated trial, wheat was notilled into corn residue with 100 lb MESZ in the treatment on the L of center, compared to 100 lb MESZ on R.

@ChrisJPelzer If you look at some of the data, it suggests that the lower the STP levels - the greater the response to banded P (compared to broadcast). But my experiences lead me to believe if it’s heavy residue notill conditions, we always seem to see a similar response regardless to STP.

@NeedhamAgTech Is there a good handle on optimizing the wheat seed + P response? In other words, if soil test P is “Y”, an economic response to winter wheat is expected at “X” amount of in-furrow P? Curious how this response varies with background soil fertility levels for VR applications.
