The fragility of that little body, his warmth against my chest... it's a peace the world doesn't know. It looks like a lazy Sunday picture, doesn't it? But the truth behind this image is that our lives have been turned upside down. Our little David, who is only a few months old, has already faced more than most adults. At first, we thought the crying was just newborn colic, nothing serious. But a routine exam revealed a complex congenital heart defect. The diagnosis was a punch to the gut. The world collapsed on us in a matter of seconds. Since then, our routine has been hospitals, doctors, constant monitoring... the silence of the hospital monitor has become the most terrifying sound I've ever heard. This photo was taken during one of the rare moments of peace at home. I was so exhausted, my husband too, as you can see in our tired eyes. But he, David, he is our example. He is so small and so strong. He teaches us about resilience every day. There are days when all I can do is cry and hold his little hand. My husband is my pillar, but I know he also suffers in silence. Our faith is the only thing that keeps us standing. The next surgery is crucial. The doctor said it's a delicate procedure, but necessary for him to have a chance at a long and healthy life. And that's why I'm here, sharing our pain and our love.
