Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

Due to weather, we now plan to fuel our Artemis II Moon rocket on Monday, Feb. 2, at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With this adjustment, the earliest possible launch date is Sunday, Feb. 8. SpaceX has developed a novel Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system, called Stargaze → starlink.com/stargaze
To maximize safety for all satellites in space, @SpaceX will be making Stargaze conjunction data available to all operators, free of charge. By providing this ephemeris sharing and conjunction screening service free of charge, we hope to motivate operators to take similar steps towards ephemeris sharing and safe flight.

The Sun, taken just a few days ago. These sunspots have now rotated to the right and have sent an M class flare in the direction of Earth. Potential for a geomagnetic storm on Tuesday night could make for a good Aurora show if conditions are optimal. We won't know until then.

Did you guys know we’re going to the moon in a few months? Like Artemis II is actually happening, not some theoretical plan with hardware that still needs to be developed. The rocket is built and waiting to take the crew to the moon. First time since 1972. This is a big deal!
