Bungie showed exceptional story telling, visuals, gameplay, and sound that made Halo amazing and something that has massive nostalgia and replayability today. 343 tried to follow the story Bungie teased with Halo 4, but it wasn’t the same. Rushed story with plot holes.

Mixed opinions on this. For one, the books are all pretty amazing and full of amazing expanded lore. Secondly, halo had to modernize itself. The old movement and gunplay would never hold up in modern gaming. With all that said, 343 simply cannot tell the story as well as Bungie.

It's a real shame that we talk about Halo being special in the past tense now. We've been in the hyper book saturated and Call of Duty chasing 343 era of Halo for so long now that I almost forget it used to feel so different.
