@MareeToddMSP Something's jogged my memory. I said the scent of gorse reminded me of vanilla. What was I thinking of...it's coconut, of course !! While I'm on, the scent/taste of lychees reminds me of elderflower in its various guises.

It was a good afternoon door knocking with @alisonthewliss in Govan this afternoon and a good level of support for her campaign to be elected as the SNP MSP for Glasgow Central. I have not campaigned in Govan since the 1988 Westminster by-election when Jim Sillars was elected.

This is probably the case. Labour are quickly departing the field after spending the last couple of years in the futile exercise of trying to 'out Farage' Farage and the Tories are just too damaged to be a proper electoral force any more. It's the realignment of English politics.
