Yes, because there are so many all-stars on this current roster that one of the rare potential power bats in the current group is banished to the minors to make room for them. Inexplicable move based on minuscule power in this lineup. #stlcards

Common theme from both Bloom and Marmol on Velázquez: constructing the roster this way allows them to make minimal 40-man moves. Both referenced being able to “keep all our guys” more than once. Hope is Velázquez pushes the issue.
