Today starts the 3 day stretch of a G2 Watch! With numerous CMEs wandering around in space and fast solar wind from a coronal hole coming in behind, multiple periods of moderate geomagnetic storming conditions are possible through the 21st. As always when there are this many events in play, timing is tricky, so now it's just a waiting game on what decides to arrive at our L1 satellites. Additionally, due to events potentially piling up in space (not a cannibal CME but rather a CME sandwich), data signatures may not appear as clean or textbook-like. Be patient and let this play out. A lot of analysis and dissecting of events will not be able to happen until it is all over. At this point, individual events don't matter that much, rather just keep an eye out for those favorable storming periods.

G2 Watch is out 19-21 March due to a mix of potential CME arrivals and CH HSS effects. While there is a high level of uncertainty related to the CME arrivals, there is more certainty regarding the likely CH HSS effects to begin 21 March. Stay informed at spaceweather.gov

AR4392 produced another eruptive M-flare, peaking at M2.7. The associated dimming and coronal wave appear to be directed toward the NW, but an Earth-directed component is possible.

Weve had a really nice set of earth directed CMEs this week!

A big eruption that occurred about four hours ago in AR 14392. As I wished yesterday, the region has evolved to a configuration that is conducive to the production of this nice coronal wave. Although coronagraph data are not yet lined up, Earth may be hit late on March 18.
