I'm excited to share that I have started my MFA in Creative Writing program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I'm so grateful to God and everyone who contributed towards the success of this endeavor.

Every African should grow up reading stories set in their own landscape. Not Narnia or Hogwarts. The forests of Ọṣogbo. The markets of Kumasi. The shores of Zanzibar. Our imagination deserves our own geography.

The biggest pleasure of writing is writing. Not publishing. Not awards. Writing.

As a university professor, I rarely hear from students after the final exam. However, there are always a handful of students who will send personal notes or emails after the semester is over. These mean more to me than you could possibly imagine. Students, if you enjoy the class, let the teacher know. They truly love hearing it.
