Mrs McGuire's S2 classes spent today learning about Alice Ball, an African American chemist who found the most effective treatment for leprosy. We had some fantastic discussions on her work and got involved in carrying out our own chemical reactions @OLHSSocSubjects #BHM2023

What an absolutely fantastic afternoon we've had in Science. Our senior pupils volunteered their time to learn some experiments which we will be rolling out to our P7 pupils from @StBrendansPS @BernadettesPS @OlgaPrimary ! We can't wait to get started! @OLHSMotherwell

The standard is HIGH with our S3 Biology classes model cells this year. S3 consolidated their knowledge of animal, plant, bacterial and fungal cell organelles by creating these models as a home learning task! Well done everyone 🔬
