Amanda Adams and Paige Consolo represented #FoodScience at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum this week! Both students gained hands-on experience through our department’s FoodSURE program, where they built research skills and explored meaningful projects in food science.

As the first signs of spring arrive, so does one of our favorite traditions - research forum season! Several of our graduate students showcased their hard work at the #OhioState Hayes Research Forum, presenting both posters and oral presentations on their cutting‑edge projects.

Congrats to Laura Castellanos Suarez who received the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS) Biotechnology Division Student Excellence Award. Laura is a PhD student and is advised by Dr. Osvaldo Campanella.

Veeramani Karuppuchamy has been selected to receive a Phi Tau Sigma Student Achievement Scholarship. The award is given to a student member of Phi Tau Sigma who has shown exceptional scholastic achievement and a dedication to the Food Science and Technology honor society.

Congratulations to Rinky Ghosh who placed 3rd in the CFAES 3 Minute Thesis competition. This competition challenges participants to effectively communicate the significance of a thesis/dissertation to a non-expert audience in 3 minutes or less using one static slide. #CFAES

Congratulations Veeramani Karuppuchamy on receiving an Outstanding Graduate Research Award. This award recognizes and celebrates graduate student success in publishing high quality research in a timely manner. Veeramani is a PhD student and is advised by Dr. Osvaldo Campanella.

Congratulations to the Department of Food Science and Technology students who were named to the 2025 Autumn Semester Dean’s List. To qualify for this recognition, these students completed a minimum of 12 graded credit hours with a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the semester. #CFAES

The @OSUGradSchool has announced the 2025–2026 Presidential Fellowship recipients, and we are pleased to share that Rinky Ghosh, graduate research associate and doctoral student in the Department of Food Science and Technology, has been named a 2026 Presidential Fellow. #CFAES
