“Male socialization” discourse is annoying because it’s a Motte and Bailey argument. It’s a dogwhistle used to mean “trans women are irredeemably tainted by their original sin of being born that way” and when called on it, people backpedal to “we all live in a patriarchy.”

I do feel bad. I just feel like it’s common knowledge that society is weird toward bricky t-girls, and setting yourself up for failure is just… a choice.
