I’m also OCD so I want to upgrade to a giant OLED at the same time. I’ve been eyeing this for a while but idk if I should

@Odnetnin @baileylikemovie @rocco_botte Honest to god focus on audio first unless you’re going absolutely bananas on your display. The jump from TV speakers to stereo was actually unbelievable to me, and going from Stereo to 5.1 was nearly as stark. Absolute game changer for the big stuff, like Dune.

@baileylikemovie @Odnetnin @rocco_botte Isn’t the whole idea of bd remux versions with around 80-90 gb’s of file sizes to be the exact same as the physical copy

@Opinionnoneed @baileylikemovie @rocco_botte Yeah, I have a super cheap 5.1 soundbar setup right now, and even then I think my ears can tell the difference. I’d like to get into amps and receivers but don’t know where to begin. I’ve heard the premiere Samsung one is decent as far as soundbars go

@Odnetnin @baileylikemovie @rocco_botte The biggest difference is audio. Since most people don't have surround setups or use the tv speakers, they GUT the audio quality. Remove Low end and then knock of the highs. Then the picture gets stripped of things. HDR data is reduced or removed. Etc.

@baileylikemovie @rocco_botte I don’t download, I stream them. But have never had any compression issues that I notice. The service I use could always go away at any time, though. Do you have a recommendation for a player? I know some high-end ones still have problems with discs freezing, and Xbox/PS5 lack DV

@Odnetnin @rocco_botte It depends, if you’re happy then stick with it, but downloading remuxes for every film you watch sounds like a pain and with the way things are going, 4K players are probably only gonna get more scarce and more expensive so it might be worth the investment!

@baileylikemovie @rocco_botte Gotcha, I’m just curious if I should bother investing in a 4K player at some point when I get around to upgrading the rest of my setup.

@Odnetnin @rocco_botte That’s not the type of streaming I’m referring to, obviously that’s as close as you can possibly get but you’re still streaming over internet which means it’s still not completely lossless
