Another reason I think people hate Korra is that she was more of a grown-up and written much like one. I'm sure the writers clocked this and made the next Avatar another child just like Aang.

@AndMelee It doesn't feel very Avatar? We've had only one reference, and that was Aang. He has had encounters, but he never had to battle with spirits. Korra sets the tone for that. And it's a spirit Giant, it makes sense for her to match up to that thing.
