You are correct, but that isn’t a failure of the system itself, I would argue. Each of those people’s circumstances are different. I’m willing to bet that many of them were only a failure or two away from being successful. Being poor is more about personal choice than the system oppressing them. It’s all about how hard a person is willing to work, fail, work, fail, in order to POSSIBLY succeed. Because just like you said, every casino does say “there is a chance,” meaning, you have to take the chance. Unfortunately, most people don’t take the chance.
