On April 19th, Ontario Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence, which led to an officer-involved shooting. See the attached press release for additional information.

Just over a year ago, what could have been a tremendous tragedy became an incredible story of resilience and a will to survive like no other, creating a lifelong bond between first responders and a young man. Every Ontario first responder came together that day to help save JoJo, an innocent victim caught in an act of violence. Not only was JoJo saved, but thanks to teamwork and technology from dispatch, the Real Time Information Center, and our officers, the suspects were quickly taken into custody and will be held accountable for their actions. Investigators are clearing the scene. Ontario Mills will reopen today at 6:30 p.m.

Ontario PD and Fire are aware of the incident involving a fire at the Ontario Mills Mall. The fire has been extinguished and investigators are on scene. The mall will be closed until further notice. There’s no active threat at this time. Please avoid the area. A press release will be released with further information at a later time.

Fire has been contained to the building and knocked down. Crews continue working toward complete extinguishment. Road closures remain in effect. The final press conference will be held at 5:00 PM at the intersection of Hellman Avenue and Eucalyptus Avenue.
