All the mockery is fine, but let’s not forget that SBI staff are among the most hardworking. I have a friend who’s a manager at SBI, and she works late into the evenings almost every day. With the rapid digitization of banking over the past decade, their work hours have become even more demanding. On the customer side, they serve a wide range of people especially in rural areas and across diverse economic backgrounds. That requires immense patience, as they often need to explain things in detail and guide customers to ensure they make the right choices. It’s a job that involves real handholding.
