@isolatedrook I also really hate the word "slop" now. It was originally used when something was a carbon copy of something or when a genre is too oversaturated. Extraction shooters (and especially Marathon) is anything but that. Not everything we don't like is "slop".

I don't get what it is with people that buy PvPvE extraction shooters and demand they be turned into something else. You don't see this with any other genre.

@GrittyGamingGG Yeah it's so satisfying. I was waiting to get profiteer before going into ranked. Now I have so much good stuff to bring in. The goal is Gold 1 so I can get the destroyer skin!

Same and I'm just now getting into ranked for the first time. The loop of Cryo, Ranked, Quests, and key runs is genuinely amazing. I still have yet to do Compiler and hopefully will soon!

@kambyyy Absolutely. Just started it again for the first time in 10 years and it's been wonderful. I'm also introducing my fiance to Destiny with this and let me say that the onboarding experience is GREAT. This should be what everyone plays when they want to learn it for the first time.

i’d argue claymores actually didn’t need to be touched because you can’t hurl them from 40M away behind cover.
Regardless, ig this does limit grenade spam potency by 66%, which is improvement, but nades need a mechanical rework entirely

Fun fact. I've been trying to get my fiancee into Destiny 2. It was overwhelming and I don't blame her. Never clicked. I decided to boot up Destiny 1 with her last night and she's having a MUCH better time. Everything is taught to you slowly and the game just makes more sense.

Hot take. I know as consumers, we can feel a bit entitled to enjoy things, but telling artists what to make is just not the way to go about it. Bungie clearly wanted Marathon to be VERY different from Destiny. Asking for Destiny features in Marathon seems backwards.

this is why i find the debate on games as an art form silly. the soundtrack was designed specifically to invoke certain emotions that combine with the game’s aesthetic, creative design, and gameplay to create a synchronicity that is unmatched.
