She's a queen, loving mother, who's attuned with nature, so it doesn't make sense for her to look like some Highschool DxD character anymore. I feel like these redesigns are true to the character.

These serve as the defining focal point of HER personality. Remove that, then you fundamentally change the character. These elements will surely be missed
