Just stop with the identity politics crap. Celebrate success. Encourage it. If necessary charge a consumption based tax, which like many states, would exempt food purchases. Then you can choose your buy stuff or not. THAT IS FAIR! Ideally, though, the federal government would get all of its operating cash from tariffs. That is exactly how it used to function - 100% of revenue generated was from tariffs alone! This was before 1913 & a fraudulent 16th amendment, we the people got screwed by our sold-out leaders. They are not stupid, or morons, or much of the other descriptors used. When you spend a lifetime studying human behavior, the answer seems so clear so simple & we ALL know it already, whether we want to accept & acknowledge it, well that’s a different discussion. They (GOP) as a collective do nothing because: 1. Their needs are being met by the status quo. If they are in on the scam, or if it is merely that their ego is stroked due to the power & significance of access, titles, & power — it doesn’t matter what they are getting, but they MUST be getting their needs met well enough to sell out their ethics. They ignore obvious corruption & do virtually nothing to fix it, thus they have sold out. 2. Only courageous individuals are willing to fight. Significant change does require a fight. They are unwilling to actually fight. Fighting for real is NOT strongly worded letters, more public accusations, etc. — nope, that pretend-outrage is just a constant stream of political theater. We get a constant diet of that. Thus with their (GOP leadership) needs being met, and a lack of courage, why would anything ever change? It will not!!! 3. Growth, such as education or getting physically fit, requires a willingness to be uncomfortable. Zero personal growth occurs within one’s comfort zone, therefore the ONLY way, this way of life we see each day in America, changes in any significant way is IF/when the American people, inspired & led by a charismatic leader (President Trump), stand up and make their voices known LOUDLY, and do not let up until that change (SAVE Act, dissolution of The FED, removal of Federal income taxes, prosecutions of the guilty political leaders, etc.) happens. And know this, we will have to stand up & be loud over & over & over for MANY years because otherwise any change will revert back to the status quo as soon as it is allowed to do so. 4. Study the last 113 years of life in America. It’s been a frog-in-the-pot gradual process of stripping liberties, making people have to work harder & longer to make ends meet, debasing / devaluing our currency thus requiring more work for less & less purchasing power, and this process has us fighting amongst ourselves (the people) constantly AND so damn busy working to make ends meet, that nobody has the reserve energy to step up loud enough & for long enough to facilitate lasting change. We are, as a people, tired & easily fooled / distracted. This cannot be an acceptable excuse, but it is a fact. 5. ONLY a radical, not gradual, occurrence will facilitate the change we desire. Study human history and you will see again & again, the ONLY way a people moves from corruption, control, tyranny, and CENTRALIZATION of power to a better way of living is by significant bloodshed. I’m not confident we have the intestinal fortitude to do that as a people, because we are just comfortable enough to be unwilling to ourselves, the people, go through that perceived & actual level of significant pain. THEREFORE, complain as much as you want on X, but 3 months & 3 years it’ll be virtually the same, if not worse.
