This week, Juneteenth was officially declared a national federal holiday to commemorate the freedom of the last enslaved Black people in the U.S. PCC is proud to honor this holiday as a time of celebration and a time to reflect on the work we have yet to do. #juneteenth

Great news! Thanks to everyone who mobilized to oppose this terrible rule. Proud that PCC signed on to the amicus brief in support of the action by Harvard/MIT. thehill.com/homenews/admin…

When @PCCEquity packed up our boxes and went remote in March, we expected to throw a “welcome back” gathering in July. Though our office operations remain remote, it felt important to keep our gathering in July—a little physically distanced fun in the park!

Co-led an engaging & honest seminar to support leadership capacity to imbed social equity, belonging and justice into our @PortlandCC strategic plan. Truly fortunate to work alongside Sonali Sangeeta Balajee, a dynamic steering committee, and @symmonds group. #CDOchronicles

The @PortlandCC Staff & Faculty of Color Network has now traveled to all 4 campuses, with Southeast being our first breakfast meeting. Special thanks to the Office of the President for supporting this critical affinity space. Help us spread the word!

In case you’re wondering what I am doing when you hear me do a land acknowledgment when I speak - this is the reason. Also to #decolonize our #work & gathering places to center historic, systemic #oppression against Native peoples & lands & actively stop it. TY @PCCEquity #equity
PCC Equity & Inclusion@PCCEquity

This land acknowledgement is meant to build critical consciousness of the ongoing erasure of Native American and Indigenous peoples. We say their specific names in hopes that we do our best to learn about each unique Tribal Nation and persons. - Thank you, Rachel Black Elk.

In conversation with Dr. Kendi on how to be an anti-racist. There’s no such thing as race neutral policies.
