When the PFF Women's Cup started in 2014, it was partly inspired by the success of Nadeshiko Japan, the logo was even a sampaguita - a flower, just like theirs. Then the league followed. Clubs and UAAP teams finally had somewhere to play. It wasn't grand. It wasn't fancy. But teams didn't have to pay hefty registration fees. In fact, some even received support just for participating.
