Per @NicoleAuerbach, the NCAA will penalize programs that sign/add a transfer or allow a transfer to participate in athletically related activities without the athlete being entered into the transfer portal.

News: The NCAA will penalize programs that sign/add a transfer or allow a transfer to participate in athletically related activities without the athlete being entered into the transfer portal. Penalties include a head coach suspension (50% of a season) + a fine of 20% of that sport's budget.

Chicago State announced the addition of four assistants to head coach Bobby Rome II’s inaugural staff. Earlier this year, Rome told Prairie State Pigskin that the Cougars will hold spring practices but no official spring game. CSU plays its first-ever schedule this fall.

The D1 Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee approved a 1-year trial rule to modify the targeting rule.
If a player is disqualified for the 1st time during the season, regardless of which half it occurs, he may participate in the next game. 🔽

An Illinois State spokesperson said that the Redbirds are still seeking a 12th game for the 2026 football season. However, ISU may have to settle for an 11-game schedule as the calendar continues to turn. As of now, ISU has an Oct. 10 opening.
