If oil prices remain high, this govt’s fragile economic bubble could unravel far sooner than expected. Prices today are still below 2022 levels, when the same leadership came into power accusing the previous administration of economic mismanagement.

Gas subsidy goes to Urea companies rather than consumers. The biggest beneficiary is Fauji fertilizer, for the gas subsidy in the name of fertilizer.

Seems like, the biggest beneficiary of attack on South Pars field & sanctions on Iran is Qatar. This could be a coincidence too but seems very unlikely. Qatar is also the one of the first country in the Middle east to establish trade relations with Israel in 1996.

In 2017, Qatar did a deal of $12 Billion for 36 F15 jets with the USA & defense deal. - In 2018, the USA backed off from a nuclear deal, placing sanctions on Iran again. 5/6

🧵 Seems like, the attack on South Pars was not unplanned & neither the reply! This is a shared gas field, between Qatar & Iran. By rules, whoever extracts first, gets it, otherone is a loser. Qatar is already selling the same to the world, covering 20% global LNG demand. 1/6

Is this because of war? We are asking $5 Billion for 10 years and oil worth of $5 billion too.

Pakistan's remitances reliance, heavily expose it to Middle East war. - In FY25, we received $38.3B in remittances, with ~$30B+ coming from Gulf countries. - UAE, standstill now ~$8B - 8–10% of exports go to GCC. - Oil is also very expensive. Long war can weaken PKR badly.
