7 September 1944 Station Bulletin: Inspection of Ablutions. CQ’s in all sites will inspect ablutions each night at midnight to insure that no water taps are left running. The Sergeant of the Guard will make an hourly check of communal site and Lead Crew site ablutions. #turnitoff

7 Sept 1943 Target: Watten, Fr 24 a/c dispatched, 24 a/c returned. No bombing due to cloud cover. Lead a/c left the ground at 0600, other aircraft following at 30 second intervals. Delay in take-off was caused by a hole in perimeter track causing also confusion in take-off order.

11 Aug 45 Q Liz sailed up the Hudson River with her decks laden with joyous army, navy and marine personnel. River Boats with brass bands welcomed everyone on board. Tug boats gave frequent blasts on their deep sounding foghorns, telling us in so many words, “Welcome home Yank.”
