@Kershaw444 Agree. We all know he's no superstar and hopefully Leeds can upgrade a few positions in the summer but I find the criticism he and Gruev received after Monday bizarre. Both played important roles in getting the team over the line.

Watched the full game back, surprised some have gave Aaronson stick for his performance, he had a great first half, loads of energy, pressed really high, he did great work down the right playing the ball into Bogle for the first, then wins the header assist the second #lufc

@LufcApl Good chance he's injured for the next few games? He does seem to struggle with the physicality of the PL. Brilliant for an hour most games he starts but then he has to come off. It looked more than cramp on Monday

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 Ao is a real fan fav and when Leeds play on the front foot he really thrives. When Gruev came into the team it coincided with the upturn in results and outside of Forest at home he was just a steady Eddie but I could understand him playing at the time. Delighted Ao is in now tho

@Patlatic @JackLUFC1919 That Bulgarian fella is just not good enough at this level whatsoever. He’s not had a game as good as tanaka last night once and yet has started over him a tonne. Make it make sense.

On the farke point, recruitment is more important than your manager anyway imo Thats not me shitting on farke btw, it's me trying to provide even more optimism on next season Also farke is a great coach, just makes lots of diabolical decisions
Jack@JackLUFC1919

If we recruit as well as we did last summer, i dont see why we cant push for european places next season. A lot will rest on daniel farke, but the squad should be able to Everton could finish 6th and theyve put out plenty of worse lineups than us this season

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 Fair enough but I just can't get over the negativity of some. Whether it's Farke, Aaronson or Gruev. No one is above criticism and but I don't get the constant criticism some receive.

@Patlatic @JackLUFC1919 You don’t follow me so you’re painting me with some incorrect brush here and you’d know that if you were a long-term follower. I pushed back on your positivity but I don’t just focus on all the negatives with Farke. Absolutely not. You’re totally wrong there. I’m pretty neutral

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 In certain games yes, in others it's the quality of players that the opposition have and squad depth they have that Farke doesn't. Would you give him a new contract? Fans like you never seem to acknowledge Farke's positives and even after last night are all about the negatives.

@Patlatic @JackLUFC1919 Well coached but he struggles to see when we are losing our grip on games and subs might help things. We’ve lost points where we shouldn’t have for months now. We are a bad team in the second halves of games for this reason. That’s on him, I’m afraid

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 I just think some of the fanbase expect too much. Leeds are a very well coached team, all neutrals can see this. Add more quality in the final 3rd and Farke will thrive. 1st Leeds manager to win at OT in 45 years (league) and to reach a cup SF in 37 years. A lack of appreciation

@Patlatic @JackLUFC1919 But then he needed to be more proactive/needed to see what many of us on here were saying at the time. He didn’t. I’m less qualified and I was calling for style changes after a few games. We’ve got them and improved. We got it too late. This season should’ve been more comfortable

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 Exactly my point. He was facing the sack unless he adapted which he did. I agree regarding team v Sunderland as well but he learned from this error in the games since. Again, he's not perfect but continues to show improvements

@Patlatic @JackLUFC1919 I’m not with you here, sorry. I don’t think it’s improved all that much. He was about to be sacked when he finally tweaked things and we then improved. Starting the same team at home to City and then at home to Sunderland is madness. Those both needed very different 11s

@MOTweets1919 @JackLUFC1919 Those aspects have been his biggest improvements this season for me. No manager is perfect and will make decisions that annoy/baffle you at times but the fact he's adapted so well this season is the reason he's still manager and will likely receive a well earned new deal

@JackLUFC1919 If he was more adaptable/less stubborn and if he chose the right 11 and if he made his subs at better times - he’d be here for a decade Those things have been issues at other clubs as well. So it ain’t changing suddenly

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline Tanaka should be fresh and not tired after 55 mins. He played a game and a a bit for Japan too as well as FA Cup ties and came on early (For Farke) v Brentford. I think one of the reasons Farke has not started him is because he has concerns over his physicality over 90 mins

Ted@teddlyf·
@Patlatic @EthanFromOnline He was great defensively first half I just think he got tired in the second half because he's barely played, which is another problem with Farke underutilising his squad. He has to learn and be better. Luckily he's hopefully done well enough this year to get himself time

One thing that worries me a bit with Leeds is we're now in a spot where we could do with Longstaff to replace Stach, but he's been left out in the cold for months. It's a lot to ask at crunch time. #LUFC 1/2

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline Not everything is black and white. Bijol had a hamstring injury and Farke mentioned that he didn't want to risk another injury with him so not playing made sense until he was 100%. I agree on Gnonto but Stach is a key player so I understand Farke keeping him on for 90 mins

@Patlatic @EthanFromOnline Gnonto has been underused all season and has actually played well when he's had the chance. Bijol wasn't an auto starter for a couple of weeks which is batshit. It's not just the Sunderland game, though that was the most costly one

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline He's poor defending in Leeds half. He's great pressing when Leeds are on the front foot but there's been goals Leeds have conceded this when he switches off and fails to track runners or block crosses/shots.

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline Agree. If Tanaka is the more advanced I'd be happy with that. As good as he was in the 1st half v WH, we did see in the 2nd half why he can be a liability when the opposition dominates possession but if Leeds can get him on the ball in the attacking 3rd, he's worth his place

@Patlatic @EthanFromOnline Given Aaronson didn't start v West Ham and Tanaka got the nod. But we'll see Monday. I'd love to see Tanaka play again at the very least

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline It wasn't Gruev fault Leeds lost v Sunderland. He was off the pitch when they scored. As you said I think Farke has learned to attack those fixtures going forward. Gruev/SL, Ampadu and Ao on Monday. Ao concerns me in games Leeds don't have the ball but hopefully he can do a job

@Patlatic @EthanFromOnline I'm no Farke hater, but that Sunderland line up is the main reason we're worried about relegation now. It was completely on Farke. Unnecessarily negative. I think he's realised because Gruev seems to be out now. Aaronson been out of form as well and he's possibly clocked that

@teddlyf @EthanFromOnline I wasn't having a go at Longstaff. The point I'm making was Farke played him earlier in the season regularly when fit but because he got injured and there was an upturn in form, there's no way Farke could get him back in the team

@Patlatic @EthanFromOnline We played better because of the tactical change rather than because of no Longstaff though. He was playing better than Stach was early in the season

@EthanFromOnline Longstaff was a regular earlier in the season and then got injured for 10 weeks or more. The team went on an improved run while he was out so how is Longstaff lacking match fitness on Farke?

And similar has happened the last 2 seasons with Farke, be it because of form or injury, the team has needed a change or 2 but the viable options are players who have built up little rhythm/match fitness. It's one of my biggest complaints about DF all in all.

This is seriously tough… We have the semi-final on our minds, around 3 games where we need a minimum of 6 points Beating Wolves is vital My worry, is if we don’t beat Chelsea and then have to go into a must win against Burnley the Friday night!

@twill_94 @MarkHullock It is so why do you think 6 points is the minium required? Surely you'd take 4 in a heartbeat? Would leave you on 37 points with 4 to play including Burnley at home

@SmallerFishGAA Id imagine it's more of the one on Stephen McMenamin just before the Paul Geaney 2 pointer he is referring to when a player goes out of their way to block of a defender who doesn't see it coming.

McGuinness "There's an awful lot of screening going on in the attacking third, which I think somebody is going to get hurt from" Maybe he's talking about a different type of screening because Donegal's forward play uses it a lot - Langan screens Foley for COD goal, subtly makes him run around him and lose COD x.com/SportTG4/statu…

@SmallerFishGAA Surprised the no back court rule from basketball wasn't trialed last year. At least the defending team can then push out and try to force the attacking team back towards their own half.

The hooter is awful for the game but it's not the real issue It's too easy to hold onto the ball in Gaelic football. The handpass has completely taken over the game to levels never seen before Most games are literally games of throw the ball around and kick a score
