@AtheistCyclist1 @bapmarbims40372 @BenjiNaesen Well he seems to recover quickly on the Tour de France with 10 Days straight. With 7 days rest he would be fine.
You're clutching at straws.
English

@irishpeloton But Remco did win the Tour of Belgium in 2019 and 2021...No 2020 Covid. MvdP won it in 2023
English

This has suddenly become relevant again.
Evenepoel is a Belgian monument winner who has never ridden Flanders.
How rare is this? (Very... but how very?)

@Matei80 @BenjiNaesen MvdP has shown he hasn’t got the endurance legs of last year. Outright power but not the legs. The “best 90 minutes power ever.” Was a diversion from actual.
English

@PaulGething1 @BenjiNaesen When was he faster than Pogacar is a road race when both went all out? And don't say Amstel

! #LesRP eurosport.fr/cyclisme/tour-…

@MacMasore @aziiaziizam This is the first time for a number of years that he has been fit and have some form. He just needs to race against the other aliens and learn that he can’t ride every one of his wheel. Sometimes ride aggressively, sometimes ride defensively.
English

@aziiaziizam Well he knows the place, Roubaix cobbles would be an entirely different thing, Flemish cobbles aren’t that bad.
English

@BenjiNaesen I think it's brilliant he's doing it. Last few years have been poor winters for him. Just get out and race. Race in different ways. Learn you can't always ride everyone off your wheel. Be defensive at times. Be aggressive at others. Every day is a school day.
English

I'm very happy to see Remco Evenepoel riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, but it's quite abysmal to see how Red Bull-BORA's communications team have handled this.
Journalists are just doing their jobs, and if they ask the team management if Remco Evenepoel is riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, and instead of providing a "no comment", you flat-out lie to them, and they base their work on your lies, then you're negatively impacting their reputation.
I have no dog in this fight, but that feels unethical. 🤷♂️
English

@ARF_Takes @but_cyclists The driver's out of order. It's a very busy, dangerous road. It's needed a by-pass for years. Advice has always been whilst it's illegal there are cyclists who are frightened about riding on very busy roads so take to the pavement. The driver turned into a Vigilante. Unacceptable

English

@BriSmithy I don't know why Ganna doesn't do it more - Tadej and Remco have won many races going long, off the front, a la Tony Martin. Would love to see him at least try some long distance attacks,
English

@jan_murray The Swiss Women's National Team were outpaced, outpowered, and outplayed by Luzern's U15 boys — losing 7-1. Yes, 15-year-old boys! This wasn't about experience or tactics — it was raw pace, strength, and intensity
English

Guardian columnist Zoe Williams claims the reason we don't have mixed football teams is because “women are too good”. 🙄
Now, I’m no expert on football - but you don’t need to be. You can see it with your own eyes.
Watch an elite men’s match and an elite women’s match side by side. The men are, on average, quicker, stronger and more powerful - which changes the pace, intensity and physicality of the game.
Saying that doesn’t diminish women’s football. It’s simply acknowledging reality. Men’s and women’s football are different - because men and women are different.
This isn’t really about Williams - it’s about the kind of baseless arguments that get bandied around to justify men in women’s sports and spaces. Including by women themselves.

@FelixPouilly @Wakkie87 99

HUGE power from Mathieu van der Poel 🤯🏆 MvdP revealed he set an all-time 90 minute power record on his way to a third E3 title, and the numbers are astonishing 😳

@tomdanielson Nice to see Kuss back to decent form after the 2 fallow years after his Vuelta win. Kuss, Rafal Majka and Wout van Aert me all-time domestiques.....struggling to find anyone like them at the moment.
English

5. Awesome to see Sepp Kuss back crushing climbs, and his pace-setting was key to launching Jonas. Given his finishing position, it looks as if he had followed in the wheels, he would have finished in the top 5. He is a key part of being able to set up climbs the way Jonas would like to race them.
English

Volta Catalunya Stage 5 brought the big names to the front. Here are 6 things that stood out for me.
1. First off, the final climb was ridden in extreme wind which looked like head/headcross but also very gusty, so I think it was really coming from all directions. So I am going to disagree with the internet calling Jonas' win and performance low level, and I am going to say it was a crazy high level. The reality is extreme wind like that slows the times down so much you really can't estimate the power from the VAM. For example, I am here in Tucson training right now and I ride the same climb every day. When we have gusty head and crosswind, just like in the race, my times and VAM plummets dramatically. I think this is the reason why the VAM and, if you look at the speed of the leaders on the climb, were lower.
English

@PaulGething1 He could have stayed at Quickstep for the remainder of his contract too for that
English

Remco Evenepoel moved to Red Bull in order to win the Tour de France.
The reality is that he even might not be the leader of his team in July.
Was it really worth it to break his contract with Quickstep early? He doesn't seem to be better than before.

Remco Evenepoel finishes 1:37 behind Vingegaard and 37 seconds behind Lipowitz. For sure not at 100% after the crash but this still can't be good for his morale. #VoltaCatalunya105
