BREAKING: AT LAST! The CPB agents who killed Alex Pretti are FINALLY NAMED — and the cover-up looks worse by the day.
For weeks, the Trump administration hid behind masks, silence, and talking points.
Now the names are out.
Government records reviewed by ProPublica now identify the two federal agents who fired the shots that killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old VA ICU nurse gunned down during a chaotic federal sweep in Minneapolis. Their names are Jesus “Jesse” Ochoa, a Border Patrol agent, and Raymundo Gutierrez, a Customs and Border Protection officer.
Both were deployed under Operation Metro Surge, Trump’s aggressive immigration dragnet that sent armed, masked agents flooding American cities far from the border—and even farther from accountability.
The details matter.
Ochoa, 43, joined CBP in 2018 after years of wanting the job. According to his ex-wife, Angelica Ochoa, he graduated from the University of Texas–Pan American with a degree in criminal justice and spent much of his life in the Rio Grande Valley dreaming of becoming a Border Patrol agent. By the time the couple split in 2021, she said, he had become a gun enthusiast, owning roughly 25 rifles, pistols, and shotguns.
Gutierrez, 35, joined CBP in 2014 and works for the Office of Field Operations. He’s assigned to a special response team—a high-risk unit modeled after police SWAT teams. Records show both men were brought in from South Texas to enforce a crackdown that turned Minneapolis into a militarized zone.
CBP refused to release their names. DHS blocked state investigators. Body-camera footage remains hidden. And while Trump officials rushed to smear Pretti—branding him a threat and worse—video evidence shredded the official story.
Footage shows Pretti calmly filming federal agents roaming a popular arts district. It shows a masked agent shoving a woman to the ground. It shows Pretti stepping in to help. It shows pepper spray blasted into his face, agents piling on, and then a volley of gunfire—around ten shots—as onlookers screamed.
Pretti was legally armed. Multiple analyses suggest an agent removed the gun from his hip before shots were fired, contradicting claims of imminent danger.
Only after days of protests and bipartisan outrage did the Justice Department announce a civil rights investigation. Even now, key evidence remains locked away.
This isn’t just about two agents.
It’s about a system that sends anonymous, heavily armed federal teams into U.S. cities, escalates encounters instead of defusing them, and then hides the truth when an American citizen ends up dead.
Alex Pretti had a name, a family, and a life devoted to caring for veterans.
The men who killed him tried to keep their identities secret.
Now that the masks are off, accountability can’t stop at identification—it has to climb the chain of command that made this tragedy possible.

BREAKING: HERO! New reporting reveals that federal agents broke Alex Pretti's rib in a confrontation that happened a week before masked agents murdered him.
Not only that, but they suspiciously compiled a file on him before he was killed...
According to CNN, Trump's immigration officers have been mass collecting personal information about protestors in Minneapolis. One of those individuals was Alex Pretti — raising the possibility that he was intentionally targeted by the men who killed him.
CNN reports that Pretti broke a rib when federal agents tackled him while he was protesting their treatment of other individuals. He stopped his car when he saw ICE agents chasing and terrorizing a family. He began shouting and blowing a whistle, at which point he was tackled by five agents and leaned on by one of them. He was later given medication for the broken rib. The source who revealed the encounter to CNN chose to remain anonymous.
“That day, he thought he was going to die,” said the source. They further revealed that Pretti's "name was known to federal agents" but it's still unclear if the agents who killed him recognized him.
DHS claims that they have "no record" of the incident.
The most remarkable thing about this new reporting is not that Trump's goons targeted Pretti twice for violence, after all their their brutality is well-documented.
No, the most remarkable thing about this revelation is courage displayed by Pretti himself. Just a week after these ruthless fascists broke his rib, he was right back out there on the streets, filming ICE and Border Patrol, holding them accountable, and advocating for his fellow Minneapolitans. Alex Pretti was an American hero.
Please ❤️ and share if Alex Pretti inspires you!

What is going on in Minnesota is not about immigration.
If you want to deport people who are in the country illegally, you don't pull up to random cars in parking lots and shatter their windows and drag their drivers out. You don't trap cars in intersections and shatter their windows to force the occupants out into the street. You don't go up to random hispanic people at gas stations and demand their papers.
These are not targetted enforcement actions.
We know this because there are dozens of videos that show the ICE agents giving up and leaving. They wouldn't do that if they were apprehending a known target.
We know this because many of the people in these cars turn out to be US citizens and ICE just drives off, leaving them behind with their shattered windows.
Obama deported over 3 million people and ICE never employed any of these tactics. They are not effective or efficient.
This is not about immigration.

From James Hodge on Facebook
“One man shoved a woman to the ground. Another man stepped in to protect the woman. The man who shoved the woman then pepper sprayed the man trying to protect her. The guy who shoved the woman continued to pepper spray them both and the man who stepped in tried to use his body as a shield to protect the woman. The guy who shoved the woman then started trying to drag the man shielding the woman away. The woman shoving man failed to drag the man shielding the woman so several more men jumped in to stop the man from shielding the woman. The woman shover and his friends then stomped, punched, and kicked the man who had been trying to shield the woman. As they assaulted him they realized the shielding man had a holstered gun. The shielding man fought to get free to protect the woman, but never reached for his gun. One of the stomping men grabbed the shielding man’s gun and cleared himself before a single shot was fired. The other men then, after he had been disarmed, shot the shielding man ten or more times despite never having reached for his gun and after he’d already been disarmed.
That is exactly what happened. A man was murdered for trying to protect a woman who’d been assaulted.
He wasn’t a terrorist, he was a hero. He was the one protecting someone and he was gunned down for doing what any decent man should do when he sees a woman being assaulted. Alex Pretti died a hero. Alex Pretti exemplified the best of America and was murdered for it.
If you have any honor, any love for your country, and basic human decency, you will applaud the Alex Pretti and condemn the men who murdered him.”

Here in Minneapolis in the wake of the federal agents killing another community member. We, the people will continue to stand up together in support of one another, and for peace in our streets, just like 50,000 Minnesotans did yesterday. This violent federal lawlessness must end

Officials have confirmed that a 51-year-old man has died as a result of a fatal shooting at the hands of a federal agent. There must be a full and transparent investigation into this killing, and it must be led by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
DHS, CBP, and ICE need to cease all operations in Minnesota immediately.
