1 John 2:1-2 describes exactly what Jesus is doing right now. "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. When we sin as believers, He doesn't abandon us—He pleads our case based on His perfect righteousness and finished work on the cross (His propitiation/atoning sacrifice). This isn't begging a reluctant God; it's presenting His own blood and righteousness on our behalf, securing ongoing fellowship and forgiveness. It's deeply comforting and amazing: the risen Christ lives to intercede for us constantly (Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34). He knows every failure yet stands for us. That's active grace today.
