@NaturalEngland @thetimes Guardian reported this morning that, “A study in Somerset found that the urban environment contributes 4% of nutrient pollution, with the vast majority caused by farming and sewage discharges.” If correct, would energy be better spent directed at reducing the 96%? 🚜 🚽 🏘

Nutrient neutrality is not a ban on housebuilding as reported by @thetimes. It is about ensuring developers put in place mitigations to protect some of our most fragile habitats and wildlife from the damage that can be caused by extra wastewater from new housing developments.
