After roaming Bangalore briefly for 2 days, I think I don't believe in this anymore 😭 Hyderabad is on the better end of Indian cities, sure, and it has had massive improvements in the last 10 years, but Bangalore is still far ahead in the basics. > Far more usable foothpaths > Much more robust metro connectivity with expansion work already happening > Far higher green cover with trees often providing shade (even at many traffic signals) > Slightly cleaner streets on average And of course there's the weather advantage that felt like heaven to me after dealing with the massive April heatwave here

If you carve out 33% out of existing seats, reserved for women, the existing MP’s who are men will oppose as they will lose the seats they have cultivated for long. It is self preservation in politics. This is why this 33% was opposed for so long. Increase to 850 means that the additional seats will form the corpus for women reservation.

I say just keep things as they are. There are bilingual Gujaratis in Maharashtra and bilingual Tamils/Telugus in Karnataka. Residing for generations without any trouble. If you remove the shenanigans of MES and KRV, it should open doors for accepting Marathi as inevitable to Karnataka and vice versa.

I have always said that Karnataka needs to look at Marathi as a rich sub regional culture just like Tulunad and Konkani Uttara Kannada. Karnataka sees Tulu and Konkani as its own but not Marathi. I know MES has lot to do with it. But it can’t be denied that Marathi belongs to Karnataka as much as Tulu and Konkani. This is a testimony to Karnataka’s accepting culture.
