I want to improve at sketching, so I may start doing quick (15min) sketches to practice and have fun. Here, Kiearra signals the Reed-Fang Clan, a dragon flight who shepherd and eat bison herds. They're territorial. Scathdain watches me flag them over to gain safe passage.

@PredatoriaED Which is kinda in line with the size choices in Dragonheart movies and Eragon, they are similar in size most likely for that reason, it just makes more sense. I do like the look of massive dragons too but, in reality, the chance of that actually working realistically, is low.

I finished a side orthographic reference for Kiearra. I have two versions, one with the wing hidden, and another with the wing present. Here is the version with the wing present. It took me a while to get this right, but I think I'm happy with the proportions and colorpalette

@Allyslayernl yep! I like it when dragons aren't too big to interact with their environment. She's an adult, and is above-average size-wise for her species, but I've never wanted her to be too big to have a realistic hunting diet, interact with other living things, and just move around

@PredatoriaED So, if you end up having a big space in your home, as well as double/french doors, she might actually be able to visit you inside your own home then, if living in our world.

I’ve been working on a reference for my character, and, though I tried to do an ortho, my first sketch ended up as more of an idle candid reference but I like it. I figured I’d post it here. It’s for a model commission. What sort of vibe or personality do y’all read from her?

Here's another one of the reference images I've been working on for my character. I want to ask if this diagram and wing folding methodology is reading correctly and makes sense. This is how she keeps her wings when she's moving on the ground and isn't trying to look large/regal

I just finished the first Age of Fire book, and I think this may be the best dragon book I've ever read. I actually teared up at several scenes, it was a very powerfully written book, and I loved the worldbuilding and Auron as a main character / dragon PoV. Definitely read it!
