There is a lot of movement – and moving of dirt – on our Omaha campus! I look forward to sharing more in the months to come on Creighton Hall, our new baseball field, the Creighton Quad, and a new sophomore residence hall – all making it a truly exciting time to be a Bluejay.

Friday we celebrated more than 20 years in Phoenix with a new Creighton light rail stop just outside of our campus. Thank you to Mayor Gallego, Sharon Harper; Councilwoman Pastor; and Jessica Mefford-Miller for being partners all that Creighton does to serve the city of Phoenix.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent: a time to renew our connection to God and to one another. In this season, may we not only give of ourselves but remain open to receiving the gifts of grace, community, and hope.

The @creighton community mourns Mike Yanney's passing. As longtime friends of our University and Nebraska philanthropic leaders, Mike and Gail’s investments transformed countless lives. My prayers are with Gail, Lisa, and all his loved ones during this difficult time.

I joined the newest members of @alphasigmanu earliest this week as they were welcomed into the prestigious Jesuit higher education honor society. Congratulations to all of this year's inductees. I so appreciated being in attendance to celebrate your accomplishments!

I am excited to preside over todays 7 & 9 p.m. Masses in St. John’s. As our semester gains momentum, I look forward to seeing hundreds of @creighton students.

It was a great time sharing last night's @BluejayMBB comeback win with Archbishop Michael McGovern of @ArchOmaha. I look forward to welcoming the Archbishop back to @CHICenterOmaha soon!

In 1599 the Ratio Studiorum, Latin for “Plan of Studies” was published to assist Jesuit educators. More than 425 years later, our students begin their @creighton journey in this same tradition. My best wishes to all at the start a new semester today and continued success in 2026!

I want to thank Omaha Mayor, the Honorable John Ewing, and First Lady Viv Ewing for joining me today to watch our @bluejaymbb team take on @SJU_Basketball. The @gocreighton fans and atmosphere at @CHICenterOmaha are second to none in the @bigeast!

Today I was honored to share news of a transformational training facility for @gocreighton student-athletes named “The Bill” in honor of the late Bill Scott. Bill, Ruth, and the entire Scott family have shaped the lives of so many Bluejays and continue that legacy with this gift.

Happy New Year to all our @creighton and @creightonphx students, faculty, staff, and alumni! As we close the chapter on a remarkable 2025, may your 2026 be filled with even more joy, greater accomplishments, and deeper expressions of care and love.

Our @creightonalumni network numbers more than 80,000 and this past year I had the opportunity to meet many of these accomplished Bluejays as I traveled the country. I cannot wait to see many new and familiar faces in 2026 and share all the great things happening on our campuses!

With more than 1,200 first-year students completing their inaugural semester at Creighton earlier this month, I want to thank all the mentors who are helping our students discover their passions and embrace their potential as Bluejays and as future leaders. #JesuitEducated
