@dockevinmcleod How about a dedicated hospital, previously known as a psychiatric hospital. Compassion could very well be incorporated there.

Drug addiction is a medical problem. It should be treated with compassion. That does not mean drug use in hospitals around other patients, nurses, and other staff is at all reasonable. It puts others at risk and just further stigmatizes the patient with addiction. The minister of health needs to put a tight timeline on creating a safe environment with adequate resources to protect both patients and staff in hospitals. This can not be an issue we study for ages. Action is needed.
