@reemadamin The student had a hard time with the fact that we find ourselves here again...and again. While the ritual for remembrance is a call to action, it also a reminder of the things that have not changed. Becoming numb to the ritual is more dangerous than grappling with our reality.

I peeked into a high school town hall this morning where they discussed the Chauvin verdict. The principal first summarized the verdict, and then immediately took a moment to remember Ma'Khia Bryant, a 17yo who police fatally shot in Columbus yesterday. npr.org/2021/04/20/989…
