Does anyone know what building at @durham_uni is “DHE”? I’ve spent 45 minutes searching on the Uni website with zero success. Bonus points if you have a link to a map or website that actually has building codes.

I only have salary data from 2022. If we take the median salary for all staff, add £5k for 2 yrs of pay rises plus 30% fringe, and divide that into £20m, Durham University is looking at laying off roughly 490 staff across this fiscal year & next.

Newcastle University announcing 300 FTE redundancies. Come to the EGM tomorrow (Wed 1pm) and as we saw this coming, our ballot opened yesterday - vote as soon as it arrives (by post). We will be fighting this, and join forces with the other two campus unions UNITE and UNISON

I love when I have American students in my class when I do an exercise that lets them realize how much time we are workloaded to grade their work. After they pick their jaws back up, they comment, “Well THAT explains a lot!” 10min/1k words ain’t a lotta time!

I sent my Florida ballot a week ago via @FVAP. No receipt acknowledgement yet & my county has not received it. I’ve *always* gotten receipt acknowledgement w/in 24hrs in the past. Getting worried!

This is helpful information about the Oxford DPhil case. Her supervisor never raised more than Minor Concerns in the termly supervision reports, and you wouldn't generally expect someone to fail Confirmation twice without prior red flags being raised by the supervisor 1/

I was going to sell my cheap lamp I had in my old office. Nope.
This new Waterside office has auto on/off lights and I keep ending up in the dark!
