Dates from 1903, this is the most spectacularly decorated pub in Wales and is famous for its ceramics by Craven Dunnill of Jackfield, Shropshire.

As good as I remembered and it's a proper Top 100 pub. Gets everything right, still has daily papers and a proper fire. Warm and cosy. Exquisite ๐บ๏ธand friendly staff. No music or bleeps, just the mumble (arf!) of chat. Absolute gem.

Many of the suburban/small town Spoons I've encountered lately are really good. In areas where the competition is mainly basic keg-only places they serve as the 'nice' pub; reflected in service level, ale quality and staff attitude.
