The Dogs of Evil are back in AAA!
The Lucha Libre AAA show in Mérida, Yucatán, produced one of the most talked-about images of the night when Ángel, Berto, Bronco Nima, Daga, and Karmen Petrovic appeared at the end of the first show broadcast on Fox, wearing the iconic Dogs of Evil t-shirts.
Like any faction, sooner or later the question arises: who should be the leader? From our perspective, Daga seems like the natural candidate. Not only because of his experience, but also because he was one of the last talents promoted by El Hijo del Perro Aguayo during the latter's final run in AAA. Later, his time with NOAH allowed him to evolve as a wrestler, gain international experience, and establish himself as a major figure in his own right.
The inclusion of Ángel and Berto also adds an interesting element. The Garza brothers possess charisma, presence, and experience on major stages. For their part, Bronco Nima and Karmen Petrovic may not yet be household names for much of the Mexican wrestling fanbase, but if they were chosen to be part of this comeback, there's surely a big plan in store for both of them.
Everything indicates that their first major target will be El Grande Americano, who was attacked during the events of the night.
The crowd's reaction in Mérida was positive. There was surprise, excitement, and also the inevitable mixed reactions that accompany any relaunch of a historic faction. However, the name Los Perros del Mal still carries a special weight among the fans.
Personally, the concept of "La Rebelión" has always seemed very appealing to me, especially because of the bond that once existed between Daga, Garza, Penta, and Fénix. But it's impossible to deny the strength that the Los Perros del Mal brand holds within the recent history of Mexican wrestling.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about all this is that, if the project receives the right support, we won't have to wait long to see many fans back in the arenas proudly wearing that iconic jersey that defined an era.
Could this be the definitive rebirth of the pack?
