People across South Africa, India, and the U.S. are getting paid to upload conversations, voice samples, and daily-life footage to train AI. Platforms like Kled AI, Silencio, Neon Mobile, Luel AI, and ElevenLabs are fuelling a new identity-data marketplace. Short-term income today — but biometric data lasts forever. Here’s why this trend is growing 👇 #AI #DataPrivacy #DigitalIdentity

🌍 Your roaming bill isn’t usage. It’s silent accumulation. From $1,200+ surprise charges to $10–$15/MB rates, travellers are still getting caught off guard. You didn’t use that much data. Your phone did. This isn’t overuse. It’s invisible consumption. 👉 See what’s really happening ↓

@TCGView @T3chFalcon We understand privacy concerns, but this isn’t accurate. PureVPN follows a strict no-logs policy and does not monitor user activity. Let us know if you’d like more details.

He Trusted a No-Logs VPN. It Logged Enough to Identify Him. (PureVPN & Ryan Lin) The main selling point for VPN companies is their promise of being 'no-log.' They say that once you connect to their servers, your activity vanishes. Supposedly, there are no records, timestamps, or IP addresses saved. In 2017, PureVPN was one of the loudest voices making this promise. Their website boldly stated, “We do NOT keep any logs that can identify or help in monitoring a user’s activity.” Ryan Lin, a 24-year-old computer science graduate, trusted those claims. He relied on that promise to hide his identity while carrying out one of the most disturbing cyberstalking campaigns the FBI had ever seen. In April 2016, Lin began stalking his former roommate relentlessly. He didn’t just harass her; he tried to destroy her life. He hacked into her Google Drive, stole her private diary detailing her medical and psychological history, and emailed it to hundreds of her friends, family, and coworkers. He created fake dating profiles using her home address, soliciting extreme sexual fantasies that caused strange men to show up at her door. He even spoofed her identity to call in bomb threats to local schools. Lin thought he couldn’t be traced. He used Tor, encrypted email services like ProtonMail, burner texting apps, and sent all his internet traffic through PureVPN. Local police couldn’t find him, so the FBI got involved. As the investigation went on, Lin’s digital traces began to reveal his identity. He had been careful, but he made a major operational security mistake by mixing his criminal activities with his work life. Some of the harassment happened through his employer’s network. After he was fired from his software job, the company wiped his computer and reinstalled Windows. But a standard wipe does not really erase data. FBI forensic teams copied the drive and searched the unused space. They found leftover data linking his devices to the bomb threats, as well as proof that he had installed and used the PureVPN client. The case took a turn when investigators started connecting Lin’s online actions to real-world evidence. The FBI did not need to hack the VPN. They just served a warrant to PureVPN’s company. If PureVPN’s marketing had been true, they would have given the FBI nothing. Instead, they handed over evidence that helped solve the case. PureVPN did not record the content of Lin’s internet traffic or the websites he visited, but they did keep extensive metadata in detailed connection logs. Unlike what their marketing claimed, the logs were not about websites or content. They recorded the real IP addresses Lin used to connect and the exact times those VPN sessions started. Investigators matched the server IP and timestamps to link his VPN sessions to the accounts he abused online, connecting the activity to both his home and his workplace. On October 5, 2017, the FBI arrested Ryan Lin. He was later sentenced to federal prison. The arrest sent shockwaves through the privacy community, as PureVPN users realized that the company’s zero-log policy only applied to browsing history, not to the metadata that can actually identify someone.

@seaarepea @NeowinFeed We promise we’re not “deleting the internet” 😅 PureVPN doesn’t disable NICs, this looks more like a Windows update glitch. Shoot us a DM and we’ll help you get back online.

Windows 11 is "deleting the internet" for some users. A nasty bug in the latest 25H2 and 24H2 upgrades is wiping critical network files, leaving PCs completely unable to connect via Ethernet. Here is what’s happening and how to fix it:

Hi, we understand how frustrating this is. Right now, Iran is facing heavy internet restrictions due to the situation, and in many cases VPNs may not connect at all. This isn’t an issue with your subscription, but a wider network shutdown. We truly believe open internet access is a right, and we hope connectivity is restored soon. Stay safe 🙏

High-density transit hubs during disruptions create ideal conditions for opportunistic cyber activity: Large crowds Stressed travellers Urgent flight rebookings Heavy reliance on public Wi-Fi This combination increases the likelihood of credential harvesting attacks. 4/5

Stranded in Gulf airports today? The real threat may be digital, not aviation. If you're currently stranded in Gulf transit hubs (Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain), the operational risk isn't limited to flight cancellations. Electronic warfare and network disruption activity are increasing across the region. Thread 🧵 1/5
