This whole reply thread is fascinating! Andreessen is very clumsily pointing at a real distinction: reflection is forward- looking and action-oriented, rumination is backward-looking and paralytic. He does choose the worst vocabulary for it, so he says “zero introspection” and we hear “I’m a psychopath.” The irony is that the people calling him historically ignorant are themselves doing zero work to understand what he actually said. Which is its own form of low introspection.

Just seeing the awful news that Kiki Shepard passed away today after suffering a massive heart attack. She was 74. I just saw her Feb. 12 at the NBA All-Star Weekend Gospel Celebration. She asked me to play in her annual golf tournament. I said yes and we traded numbers. We all knew her from Showtime At The Apollo. She was a legend! RIP, Kiki.
