The Justice Department said no. There was no case. They called it payback. The editor of the New York Times said this today: "The FBI's attempt to criminalize routine reporting is a blatant violation of Elizabeth's First Amendment rights." This is the third Patel story this week. Monday: Patel's own lawyers admitted in court that he was locked out of FBI systems. Tuesday: Patel stood at a podium and said anyone who reports that is lying. Today: Patel's FBI tried to go after a reporter for writing about his girlfriend. The head of the FBI went after a reporter for doing her job. The Justice Department had to stop him. Never stop connecting the dots.
