Top players won't be affected for now, because they can understand solutions from those AI slops. But as time goes on, LLMs are getting improved to catch up. In the end, what's the meaning of playing CTFs anymore?

I don't have any opinion on using LLMs in CTFs. It’s just the way the world is going. The sad thing is, I feel like it's robbing people of opportunities to learn. Of course, you can play CTFs without LLMs, but doing so may cost you your chance to win, or qualify for the finals.

With regards to the CTF discussion, I think we need t-shirts of '90 style website buttons which say: 1337 Pre-AI CTF Player 1337 I reversed on CTFs before IDA had a DECOMPILER! In my days it was called a WARGAME I HAD TO SOLDER MY OWN COMPUTER

I was thinking of some sort of sliding attack methods, but gave up as the given encryption function was too slow. Used CUDA coding to solve with my 3080.

I couldn't go to Riyadh this time tho, I heard that crypto challenges from the BH MEA CTF finals were very good. Is there any official write-ups or sth 🤔

Just published an IDA plugin: HappyIDA Built with @h3xr4bb1t and @scwuaptx , and I’ve been using it in my daily reversing work for 1~2 years. There’s still a lot to do, but it felt like the right time to make it public, so we’re more likely to fix things (and hopefully some kind stranger will help us) It’s fancy, but not that fancy. Honestly, IDA Pro would be better if they adopted some of these ideas. There is no complex algorithms, no timeless debugger, no symbolic execution, but just a bunch of tiny features that have already helped me speed up reversing a lot. (The screenshot shows the origin of the project and the first feature I implemented: parameter labeling. @h3xr4bb1t later made it much more powerful. The SEH highlighter was made by @scwuaptx, and the SEH rebuilder was made by @h3xr4bb1t) github: github.com/HappyIDA/Happy…
