My grandfather was a #WWII vet, laborer for 40y @UniroyalTires, #greatestgen. At 96yo he walked several miles/day. When he fell and broke hip, he received hip replacement, but wasn't mobilized. 2 days later he had full-thickness heel ulcers, couldn't walk. He died 90 days later.
